Built-in Pedometer: Fitathon uses its own internal step tracker, which requires access to your device's motion sensors (pedometer). This is a core feature required for our fitness challenges.
Background Activity: For accurate, all-day tracking, our app needs to run in the background. This allows us to count your steps even when the app isn't open on the screen.
Data Usage: We only collect step count data. No other personal health metrics (like location, heart rate, etc.) are collected.

Data Security and Retention
All user data, including step counts, is stored securely using Firebase's security standards.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
Data is retained to provide you with your activity history and is deleted upon account deletion request.
User Controls for Your Data
Permission Control: You can manage the Physical Activity permission for Fitathon at any time through your device's system settings. Disabling this permission will prevent the app from tracking steps.
Data Management:
View your collected step data in the app's dashboard.
Request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
